This is going to be short and sweet because I'm WAY medicated at the moment.
The surgery went well. They ended up removing my whole thyroid instead of just one lobe of it. I guess the whole thing was infected with cancer. He also removed some lymph nodes as a precaution to see if they are cancerous. Right now the prognosis is good. If the lymph nodes come back as normal then I'm pretty much done besides the medication. If they come back abnormal then there's more I have to do for treatment.
As of right now, it's just good to be home and have it over with. Other than being pretty gross feeling and looking like my neck was slit open, I'm doing pretty damn good.
Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone. It looks like all the good vibes paid off (hopefully). Regardless, it's nice knowing I no longer have a big cancerous growth in my neck.
